Quentin VerCetty – PO Box Artist Talk

July 23, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

PO Box Collective is delighted to host Quentin VerCetty, Toronto based artist and Monument Lab Fellow, for a presentation on the creative process behind his “Missing Black Technofossils” project, currently on view at the PO Box storefront.

VerCetty’s creative output responds to the lack of public monuments commemorating Black history in Canada. Through digital technology, he explores augmented reality to speculate addressing social issues and the imaginative futures of representation and preservation of the memories of people of African descent. As part of his presentation, VerCetty will also engage viewers in a virtual tour of potential sites to commemorate past, present, and future Black lives in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago, where PO Box is located.

This virtual event is free and will take place on Friday, July 23rd, 2021 5:00 PM to 7:00PM.
