First off, our workday will be focused on getting the rest of our seed donations processed and into envelopes so that they are available to the public as we enter the growing season. Please join us for this casual hangout if you are able!
Our skillshare will be designed so that as people stop by throughout the day there is information and people available to answer questions. We will have a few tables set up and library member Ash from @bricktownseedlings will be hosting demos on how to make/use soil blocks as a way easily grow your starts. And yes, you can take soil blocks home!
How do you start your seedlings? What methods have works well for you? What else have you learned about gardening in the city? We know there is so much wisdom in our community. Stop by for a bit to share your skills and/or hang out with us while we process seeds.

Regarding what to bring; if you would like to take soil block home, please bring a tray or container of some sort. The milk jugs/ soda bottles are for the “outdoor winter sowing” method. Extra containers would be helpful. Lastly, we need padded mailers for our shipping project!! We know you have some bused ones laying around
Lastly, cash or Venmo donations are always welcome to help us cover materials costs. We are looking forward to this event!

In this exhibit, the artists ask: what is our responsibility to Palestinian life and liberation? Who is born into the responsibility and what does it mean to––sometimes unwillingly––bear the weight of such responsibility? What role does this responsibility to liberation and honoring history play in one’s artwork?
We invite our community to join us in asking these questions and reflect on how we are responsible to one another and how we tend to our responsibilities.
Nonfiction Read-Aloud Book Group meets online on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month @ 7pm.
We’ve been meeting since 2019 and the makeup of the group is fluid. Pop in when you can! We take turns reading aloud to each other and stop the reading frequently to discuss the text, ask questions, and repeat sentences. People are not required to read in order to participate.
We’re currently reading Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals, by Alexis Pauline Gumbs. Undrowned is a book-length meditation for the entire human species, based on the subversive and transformative lessons of marine mammals. Alexis Pauline Gumbs has spent hundreds of hours watching our aquatic cousins. She has found them to be queer, fierce, protective of each other, complex, shaped by conflict, and struggling to survive the extractive and militarized conditions humans have imposed on the ocean. Employing a brilliant mix of poetic sensibility, naturalist observation, and Black feminist insights, Gumbs translates their submerged wisdom to reveal what they might teach us. The result is a powerful work of creative nonfiction that produces not a specific agenda but an unfolding space for wonder and questioning.
