PO Box is thrilled to present two stunning documentaries about Rogers Park by young filmmakers from the neighborhood!

Documentary Screening! Two Summers on Hayes Avenue

PO BOX COLLECTIVE (8 mins) by Adán Wells Escobar
This sensitive portrait of the PO Box Collective and its deep-rooted connections to the Rogers Park community features interviews with organizers and community members. It explores how art and activism intersect and amplify the stories of people doing transformative work right in Rogers Park. (2026)

TWO SUMMERS ON HAYES AVENUE (48 mins) by Tess Lacy and team
This powerful examination of the relationship between Rogers Park and Loyola University looks to the future on how the university can better support the community, and how the community can better examine issues of gentrification and displacement in light of the current environment. A discussion will follow the screening.

Two Summers on Hayes Avenue is a project created by the production team of Tess Lacy, Lauren Sims, Elias Eshu, Emery Arevalo, Jo Swan, Nathan Yuen, Tenzin Chozom, and Dominic Bonelli, with Justin Anderson, Tara Lewis, Hnin Thazin, Solomon, and Vince Ahmadi. (2025)
