Come out and enjoy a classic of Queer cinema.

Paris is Burning: Screening + Discussion

ABOUT THE FILM

(1991) The 80s seen through the eyes of NYC’s African American and Latinx Harlem drag ball scene, an intimate portrait of rival fashion “houses,” from fierce contests for trophies, to house mothers offering sustenance in a world rampant with homophobia, racism, AIDS, and poverty. Featuring legendary voguers, drag queens, and trans women including Willi Ninja, Pepper LaBeija, Dorian Corey, and Venus Xtravaganza. Made by Livingston over seven years, Paris is Burning premiered at Film Forum in 1991 for a blockbuster 6-month run.

Suggested donations going towards Ventra cards to out neighbors. No one turned away from lack of funds.
